How this adventure started

I think every coffee has its place. Be it instant from the camping billy, an early morning stove-top to watch the champion’s league, a mediocre filter to sponge some free Wifi or a funky specialty coffee. I always savour the moment. For a long time I made stove top coffee, but in 2014, after moving to Amsterdam from Sydney, I bought myself a La Marzocco GS3 and started learning more about specialty coffee. Shortly thereafter I crossed paths with some Dutch barista & roasting legends and here I am a few years later with a Lyn Weber EG-1 Onyx and a freezer full of competition coffee.

Now that I have a single dose grinder and pretty good home coffee bar, I am seeking out some of the most interesting & experimental specialty coffee from around the world to play around with. I noticed it’s not so easy to find one location with all this information, most of the coffees I have came word of mouth from top baristas and roasters. Additionally, it’s always been difficult to find suggested grind settings and brew ratios for specialty coffees. Therefore I thought it would be both fun and useful to document my adventure and share my findings.’
